Designing websites

I design websites in Squarespace -  a website building platform and hosting company that’s really user-friendly and easy for clients to manage. The beauty of Squarespace is that it is a totally ‘managed’ platform (unlike WordPress). This means that all updates, maintenance, security and tech stuff is taken care of so you don’t even need to think about it. It also means it’s really easy for you to make updates to your own website without hiring the services of a web designer.

I love creating websites and seeing brands and businesses come to life. I seriously enjoy it, so if it’s something that you dread, or if design is not your forte, then I’d love to help you build a beautiful online home that compliments your unique brand. I’ll provide you with a business presence that will engage with your audience whilst showcasing your products and your blog posts in the best way, and you won’t have wasted hours trying to make your site work as it should.

How it works

  • “The website is so impressive, people are already giving me amazing feedback on it.

“My primary objective was always to create a site where people can get to know me so they can find out what I’m about and how I work so that I can connect with them. My new website meets that beyond expectations. It has helped me to communicate not only what I do, but also who I am. I feel I can now build credibility in my industry and create stronger connections with new people I’m meeting”. - Anna Urbaniak

  • I'm delighted with the look and feel of new site and can't wait to unleash my next project on you.

My new site is more streamlined, more visually appealing and less cluttered. It's a much more user friendly experience for visitors to the site. It's also inspired me to shake up other areas of my business, so it’s having a positive trickle down effect.

Web Design frequently asked questions

  • Ideally, yes. The design of your site will be an informed and intelligent extension of your brand identity, so it’s important that what you have now doesn’t just feel right for your brand but gives us all the tools we need to take it forward with confidence.

  • You’ll need a website plan/structure, showing your planned content placement and your finalised content, including copy and images. It’s not impossible to start designing without your content, but it tends to make the process longer, messier, and more expensive so it’s best to get your elements as finalised as you possibly can from the start.

  • Maybe your site is already on Wordpress and you want to keep it there, or maybe you just need Wordpress and that’s ok. I can work with a Wordpress developer to design and build your site. I’ll supply the designs which the developer will use to build it - we both play to our strengths to give you the best result.

  • I don’t offer a website ‘package’ because no two projects are ever the same, and so much difference is driven by a website’s content and functionality. Instead, after we’ve chatted about what you need I set out all deliverables clearly in a proposal so you’ll know exactly what you’re getting, and for how much. Your project can potentially include anything from just one single homepage design, to the design of every vital page of your site.

  • As long as you have a strong brand identity that you feel captures your brand values with distinction, we can go on to create as many or as few web pages as you would like. The more pages you have designed, the more control and consistency you’ll have over your visitors’ online experience. Simple.
